Sheltered Housing in Stirling

We are a charitable, non-for-profit organisation providing support in our sheltered housing for older people.

We know how important it is to care for our loved ones in their old age. That's why we ensure that every adult in our care receives a unique support plan that works best for them, whether that's social care so they can live independently, or more support and housing for those who need it.

A total commitment to our clients ensures we can offer a variety of tailored elderly care services that are second to none.

About Abbeyfield (Stirling) Society Ltd.

The Abbeyfield Society is a national organisation with over 1000 house all over Great Britain and there is one house in Stirling near the town centre.

All the societies are managed and run by volunteers who give freely of their time and expertise to help older people, thus keeping the cost to a minimum so that the monthly fees are well within the means of retired people. The volunteers are there for the residents, to talk and listen, to take them shopping and to functions, church, meetings, outings etc. as, and when required.

We need Volunteers/Trustees

Could you improve the lives of older people?
Do you have a few hours to spare?

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers, who are keen to motivate and support older people to enjoy the simple things in life. We have various opportunities that would allow individual volunteers to use their skills to benefit others. Our main aims are to reduce loneliness, improve general wellbeing, promote independence and more importantly, have fun.

The following list is simply to give an idea of skills that would be of great value to us at Abbeyfield:
Caring, compassionate, keen to listen and express empathy, a genuine interest in people, chatty personality, gardening, cinema/theatre, walking, current affairs, finance, business management etc.
All interest/skills are life skills and some learned from your working life: All are very welcome.
